The AP reported that toxicology testing found several prescription drugs used to treat PTSD and bipolar disorder. The Guardian described traces of medications used for major depression, bipolar disorder and PTSD. Those findings identify substances detected and their reported uses; they do not establish that medication caused Judd’s death.
When was the manner of death made public?
On May 12, 2022, Judd’s daughter Ashley Judd disclosed the manner of death on the family’s behalf, saying they wanted to share it themselves rather than have it become gossip.
