How Strands works

Strands is a word-search-style puzzle played on a 6-by-8 grid. Players find words connected by a theme; the spangram describes that connection and links opposite sides of the board. The New York Times has described themes as potentially involving fill-in-the-blank phrases, process steps, categories, synonyms, or homophones. The game’s editor, Tracy Bennett, has said she plans to surprise solvers with curveballs from time to time.

TechRadar says new puzzles appear at midnight in each player’s time zone. For current access details, consult the NYT Games Strands page.
