The November 11, 2025, NCIS crossover was a two-series event—not a triple crossover. NCIS: Origins began the story with young Gibbs and the Camp Pendleton team investigating a naval officer’s death in the 1990s; the present-day NCIS episode followed by reopening that case. The available official guide does not identify NCIS: Sydney as a participant.
Which shows took part in the NCIS crossover?
The event connected NCIS: Origins and NCIS. CBS and Paramount promoted the Origins installment as the first part of the crossover, and the Associated Press described the event as a story moving from Origins into the modern-day series. Neither source identifies NCIS: Sydney as part of it.

That distinction corrects the “triple crossover” premise: the advertised team-up involved two series, not three NCIS offices.
What happened in the NCIS crossover?
The shared case centers on a naval officer’s death. In NCIS: Origins, young Leroy Jethro Gibbs and the Camp Pendleton team investigate the death in the 1990s. The modern NCIS episode then brings the case forward, as the current team reopens the investigation Gibbs and Mike Franks handled years earlier. The official synopsis says the team enlists retired special agent Vera Strickland.

Mark Harmon was announced for a guest appearance as Gibbs in the Origins episode. The story’s structure is a handoff across time: the earlier series installment presents the original investigation, and the later one follows the case’s return in the present day.
What was the episode order and air date?
CBS and Paramount promoted the episodes for Tuesday, November 11, 2025, with NCIS: Origins first and NCIS directly afterward. The Associated Press reported that the event aired on Veterans Day and described it as a first for the franchise.
- First: NCIS: Origins — the 1990s investigation into the naval officer’s death.
- Then: NCIS — the present-day team reopens the case.
What is not established about the case?
The available official synopsis and AP coverage establish the crossover format and its shared premise, but they do not verify the culprit, the evidence trail, or the case’s resolution. Those plot details should not be inferred from the promotional descriptions. The sources also do not establish current Paramount+ availability for every country or subscription tier.
