Spoilers for My Hero Academia Chapter 424. Chapter 424 shifts from the Final War to its aftermath: recovery and rebuilding begin, Deku wrestles with not saving Tenko, and the students return to U.A. It starts the manga’s epilogue rather than ending the series.

What happens in My Hero Academia Chapter 424?

After the Final War, the country turns toward recovery and reconstruction, with heroes and others helping restore what was damaged. Deku and All Might are recovering in the hospital. Though the battle is over, Deku is still grieving that he could not save Tenko Shimura.

All Might asks Deku about his final exchange with Shigaraki. Deku remembers Shigaraki telling him to do his best in the future. The moment leaves the conflict’s emotional weight unresolved: victory does not undo the harm or make Deku’s regret disappear.

Bakugo learns about One For All

Bakugo is recovering from grave injuries when he learns that Deku has only the remaining embers of One For All and is likely to lose the power. He breaks down at the news. All Might reassures both boys, recognizing them as great heroes despite the cost of the battle.

The students return to U.A.

The chapter also checks in on Shoto and Ochaco before moving forward to the classmates’ return to U.A. That shift from hospital recovery to the school signals that the story is moving beyond the battle and into a longer account of what comes next.

Why Chapter 424 matters

Chapter 423 centers on the immediate conclusion of the fight; Chapter 424 changes the pace to aftermath, recovery, and rebuilding. Its focus is not another confrontation but the consequences the characters must carry: physical injuries, grief, and the work of restoring their lives and country.

The chapter’s return to U.A. is a transition, not a full resolution. It opens the epilogue portion of the story, which continues to explore the students’ futures and the rebuilding that follows the war.

Does Chapter 424 end My Hero Academia?

No. Chapter 424 is not the series finale; it begins the epilogue. VIZ identifies My Hero Academia, Vol. 42 as the final volume and describes it as covering the aftermath and how U.A.’s students and staff rebuild their lives. The chapter itself is listed after Chapter 423 in VIZ’s official chapter listing, dated June 2, 2024: My Hero Academia Chapter 424 on VIZ.
