The debate over Danielle’s “attitude” toward LE SSERAFIM’s Hong Eunchae came from a brief moment on the May 31, 2024, broadcast of Music Bank. NewJeans had just won with “How Sweet” when Danielle continued or resumed her remarks as Eunchae appeared to begin the MC outro. Some viewers saw disrespect; others saw an awkward overlap. The broadcast moment does not establish either performer’s intent.
What happened on the May 31 broadcast?
Eunchae and Moon Sangmin were hosting Music Bank when NewJeans took first place with “How Sweet.” After Minji thanked fans and the ADOR team, Danielle added thanks to the group’s CEO and fans. As the remarks continued, Eunchae appeared to begin speaking as part of the program’s outro.
KpopStarz’s account describes a clip circulating online and notes that viewers read the timing and Eunchae’s expression in different ways. The dispute is about how to interpret that brief exchange—not a confirmed statement by either artist. (KpopStarz, June 1, 2024)
Did Danielle interrupt Eunchae or act rudely?
The available reports do not establish that Danielle deliberately interrupted Eunchae or intended to slight her. In the short clip, Eunchae appeared to start the outro while Danielle was still speaking, which some viewers interpreted as rude or dismissive. Others argued that the moment was simply a timing mishap.

KpopStarz reports that a longer clip gave viewers a different impression: Eunchae seemed to think the remarks had ended after Minji spoke, while Danielle appeared to wait for the crowd’s cheering to subside before continuing. Asian Junkie also favored a misunderstanding explanation based on an alternate angle, but that is the commentator’s reading, not an official account. Neither report supplies confirmation of what Danielle or Eunchae intended. (KpopStarz; Asian Junkie, June 1, 2024)
Why did the clip draw such strong reactions?
The controversy unfolded amid the HYBE–ADOR conflict, which had already increased scrutiny of both NewJeans and LE SSERAFIM. Koreaboo reported both angry reactions and comments describing the backlash as excessive, including people who called it a “witch hunt.” Those posts represent a range of individual responses, not the views of every fan or either group as a whole. The wider dispute helps explain why a short on-air exchange attracted attention, but it cannot prove anything about the performers’ personal feelings. (Koreaboo, May 31, 2024)

Do other reported interactions point to a feud?
Koreaboo also described a friendly-seeming Music Bank interview and off-camera exchange between Eunchae and NewJeans on May 24, the week before the disputed broadcast, and another cordial-seeming interaction on June 14. These reports complicate the idea that the May 31 clip demonstrates ongoing hostility. They are accounts of public interactions, however, and do not establish what the artists’ private relationship is. (Koreaboo, May 24, 2024; Koreaboo, June 14, 2024)
