Netflix’s decision concerned its interactive specials, not a large section of its overall film and TV catalog. In 2024, the company said it was shifting technical effort away from the format; T3 reported that 20 of the 24 interactive titles would leave Netflix from December 1, 2024.
Which Netflix interactive titles were set to leave?
T3 reported on November 6, 2024, that 20 of Netflix’s 24 interactive titles were scheduled to leave on December 1, 2024. The titles were listed under “Interactive Specials” and included interactive stories and trivia programs. The four reported as remaining at that point were:

The report described Netflix’s first interactive title as Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale, released in 2017. T3’s November 2024 report covers the original removal plan.
Why is Netflix removing interactive shows?
Netflix spokesperson Chrissy Kelleher told The Verge, in a statement quoted by T3: “The technology served its purpose, but is now limiting as we focus on technological efforts in other areas.” That explanation points to a shift in Netflix’s technical priorities, rather than a routine expiration of streaming rights.

T3 situated the decision alongside Netflix’s broader games and technology strategy. Netflix did not disclose audience figures, engagement results, or a measured failure rate for the interactive experiment in the cited reporting, so the reason should not be reduced to an unsupported claim that viewers rejected the programs.
What happened to the titles reported as remaining?
In May 2025, What’s on Netflix reported that Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend, two of the best-known titles initially reported as remaining, were scheduled to leave that month. This is a later secondary report, not a complete check of availability in every country or of every interactive title. See What’s on Netflix’s May 2025 update.

How to check whether a title is leaving in your country
Netflix says an upcoming departure within the next month is marked on the title’s details page with a “Last day to watch on Netflix” notice; the notice also appears briefly at the start of playback. Check the title in your own account, since Netflix availability can differ by country. Netflix’s help page on how Netflix licenses TV shows and movies describes its general approach to titles leaving the service, including licensing agreements and factors considered in renewal decisions. Those general licensing factors are separate from Netflix’s stated technology-focused reason for changing the interactive-special lineup.
