“The Crossroads,” the May 11, 2025 episode of MobLand, puts Maeve’s shifting approach to Conrad beside Harry’s increasingly urgent response to the family crisis. The result is an ensemble hour about loyalty under pressure—not simply a Maeve story, even if her maneuvering supplies its sharpest power shift. Whether that turn feels shocking is a matter of judgment; the official episode listing gives the installment the more suggestive title “The Crossroads.”

What happens in “The Crossroads”
Paramount+’s official synopsis keeps its focus tight: “O’Hara points out the elephant in the room. Harry takes extreme measures.” Rotten Tomatoes expands the picture: in the Cotswolds, Maeve changes tack and tests Conrad’s resolve; Alice asks Jan for a favor; Eddie and Gina find common cause; and Harry acts as time runs short. That spread of storylines makes the episode’s pressure feel collective, with different characters negotiating what they owe one another.

Review: Maeve’s maneuvering changes the balance
A power shift, not a solo turn
Maeve’s pivot toward Conrad is the episode’s most immediately intriguing dramatic move. Rather than treating her as a fixed source of opposition, “The Crossroads” puts her in motion and asks what Conrad will tolerate. The premise creates friction without requiring the episode to explain every motive outright: the interest lies in watching a familiar relationship become less predictable.
That shift is also why the episode’s title works. “Crossroads” suggests competing directions and loyalties, and the synopsis’s parallel threads widen the conflict beyond Maeve and Conrad. Alice’s request to Jan and Eddie and Gina’s alliance give the hour other relationships under negotiation, while Harry’s urgency pulls those tensions toward consequences.
#1 Best Overall
Harry’s urgency gives the episode its momentum
The official phrase “extreme measures” promises escalation, and the episode’s clock-running-out setup gives Harry’s actions a clear dramatic function: the conflict is no longer safely theoretical. The key question is whether urgency deepens the season’s family struggle or merely raises the volume. Here, it provides a counterweight to Maeve’s strategic recalibration—one character tests a relationship, while another responds to a crisis with force.
The ensemble is both strength and constraint
With Maeve and Conrad, Alice and Jan, Eddie and Gina, and the Harrigan conflict all in play, the episode has ample connective tissue for a family-crime drama. The trade-off is that no single thread can occupy the whole hour. The structure is most effective when the parallel plots feel like different expressions of the same question—who can still be trusted when time and leverage are running out—rather than a checklist of complications.

Spoilers: The Review Geek’s May 11 recap opens with Harry at an abandoned warehouse, where bodies and a blood-written “WAR” message are left behind while Brendan and Seraphina are missing. It also describes Maeve confronting Richie after learning Brendan has been taken as insurance, as the Harrigans search for a mole. These developments give the episode’s title a harsher edge: the characters are not only choosing sides, they are trying to work out who has already been forced onto one.
The recap supports reading Maeve’s confrontation as a consequential move, but it does not establish a definitive explanation of her full motive or the meaning of the final scene. The episode’s tension is stronger when that uncertainty remains part of the viewing experience rather than being converted into a settled answer.
