Mike Tyson slapped Jake Paul during their weigh-in face-off on November 14, 2024—the day before their Netflix boxing match. The moment was separate from the final press conference held the previous day, November 13.
What happened at the weigh-in face-off?
During the weigh-in on November 14, Paul approached Tyson, and Tyson slapped him. The Associated Press reported that Tyson appeared to take offense at Paul’s approach, but Tyson did not explain why he reacted. His motive is therefore not established.
When a host tried to ask Tyson about the incident, Tyson replied, “The talk is over.” Paul shouted, “Now it’s personal,” into a microphone and left the stage, according to the Associated Press.
How did the face-off differ from the press conference?
The slap occurred at the weigh-in on November 14, not at the final press conference. Netflix held that separate event on November 13 at Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas; its official video is titled “Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson: MVP Press Conference | Netflix.”

When and where was the Netflix fight?
The bout was scheduled for November 15, 2024, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and streamed live exclusively on Netflix, according to the Netflix Media Center event page. The weigh-in incident took place one day before the fight.
How many people watched the event?
Netflix said the event reached a peak of 65 million concurrent streams worldwide, including 38 million concurrent streams in the United States. Those are figures reported by Netflix after the event, not independently verified measurements. The company announced them on November 19, 2024, in its report, “Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson Mega-Event Makes History With Over 108 Million Live Global Viewers.”
