Meredith Gaudreau celebrated her pregnancy at the “Lady Jackets Baby Shower,” a joint gathering with Columbus Blue Jackets families at Cambridge Tea House in Columbus on February 2, 2025. She shared the celebration with Kelly Labanc and Aleksandra Merzlikins; it was a Blue Jackets community event, not a gathering representing wives across the NHL.
What happened at the Lady Jackets Baby Shower?
Us Weekly reported that the gathering took place on Sunday, February 2, at Cambridge Tea House in Columbus. Meredith Gaudreau was one of three honorees, alongside Kelly Labanc, wife of Columbus forward Kevin Labanc, and Aleksandra Merzlikins, wife of goalie Elvis Merzlikins.
The event report also named Odette Peters, fiancée of defenseman Zach Werenski; Lauren Tjernlund van Riemsdyk, wife of forward James van Riemsdyk; and Maggie Jenner, wife of captain Boone Jenner, among the attendees. The account described a tea-party menu that included house salad with goat cheese, toasted almond scones, turkey and Swiss finger sandwiches, mini quiches, chocolate-covered strawberries, and red velvet cupcakes. These details come from Us Weekly’s report, which credited its images to Meredith Gaudreau’s Instagram.
Why the shower was meaningful for Meredith Gaudreau
At a memorial service in September 2024, Gaudreau announced that she was expecting a third child with her late husband, Johnny Gaudreau, according to Us Weekly. At the time of the shower, the report said the couple had daughter Noa and son Johnny, while Kelly Labanc had welcomed daughter Lara in January 2025 and Aleksandra Merzlikins was expecting her second child.
