Louisa Jacobson’s June 22, 2024, Pride Month Instagram carousel featured her with producer Anna Blundell and a New York Times headline about lesbian fashion. Jacobson captioned it, “Blessed to be entering the Joyful New Era bb ❤️🔥🏳️🌈”. Many readers and media outlets interpreted the post as signaling a relationship and as a coming-out moment. But the caption did not explicitly state Jacobson’s sexual orientation or define her relationship with Blundell.
What Louisa Jacobson posted for Pride
The carousel, shared on June 22, 2024, included a photo of Jacobson with producer Anna Blundell and a screenshot of a New York Times headline: “We’re Entering a Joyful New Era of Lesbian Fashion.” Jacobson’s caption read: “Blessed to be entering the Joyful New Era bb ❤️🔥🏳️🌈”. PRIDE.com’s account of the post reproduced the caption and described its contents.
Why the post was read as a relationship announcement
The combination of a photo with Blundell, the lesbian-fashion headline and the rainbow-flag emoji led many readers and outlets to interpret the carousel as a public signal of a romantic relationship. The Independent described Jacobson and Blundell as a couple, while noting that the length of their relationship was unclear. It also reported earlier Instagram appearances together, including a June 5, 2024, post and an image from December 2023. Those appearances provide context, but do not establish when a relationship began. The Independent’s report also cautioned that the post itself did not explicitly say the relationship was romantic.
Did Louisa Jacobson come out?
Coverage often framed the post as Jacobson coming out, but that wording is an interpretation of the imagery and caption—not a direct statement by Jacobson. In the text she posted, she did not name a sexual orientation. The available reports also do not identify an on-record statement from Jacobson or Blundell confirming an identity label or defining their relationship. The careful distinction is that the post was widely read as a coming-out moment; it was not an explicit announcement of an orientation.

Who is Anna Blundell?
Blundell is a producer who appeared with Jacobson in the carousel. The Independent also reported earlier public Instagram appearances of the two, but said the relationship’s duration was unclear. The post prompted speculation about whether Blundell was Jacobson’s girlfriend, yet Jacobson’s caption did not label her as such.

The June 22 post appeared on the same date as Meryl Streep’s 75th birthday, a coincidence noted by The Independent. The reporting does not establish that Jacobson intended the Pride post as a birthday message. Jacobson is known for playing Marian Brook on HBO’s The Gilded Age and is the daughter of Streep and Don Gummer.
