Reports describe Meghan Markle displaying travel-collected art in IKEA picture frames, while later glimpses show artwork and décor in the couple’s Montecito home. The available reporting does not establish that any specific displayed work was made by family members or depicts relatives, so “family art” should not be taken as a confirmed description of the pieces.
What has been reported about Meghan’s framed art?
Architectural Digest’s account of Meghan’s interview with The Cut says she collected art during her travels and put it in IKEA picture frames. Neither the individual works nor the frames’ models and sizes were identified. The report does not say that the works were created by family members. Read Architectural Digest’s account.
What art and décor have appeared in Montecito home glimpses?
An abstract work in a 2022 video
In May 2022, Architectural Digest described an abstract art piece visible behind Prince Harry in video recorded at the couple’s Montecito home. The article identifies the work only as abstract art; it does not connect it to Meghan’s travel collection or say who made it. See Architectural Digest’s description.
Décor shown in 2025
ABC News reported that an Instagram story in September 2025 offered a glimpse of the Montecito home, including dark wooden floors, beige curtains, and a large stone vase. Its report describes décor, not an identified art collection. Read ABC News’ report.

Documentary footage is not confirmed as their home
Architectural Digest noted that it had not confirmed whether footage in the couple’s Netflix documentary was filmed at their actual home. It should not be treated as proof of what is displayed in the Montecito residence. Read Architectural Digest’s caveat.
Why do reports mention two palm trees?
In the account of Meghan’s The Cut interview, she linked the couple’s choice of their Montecito home to two palm trees in its yard. “One of the first things my husband saw when we walked around the house was those two palm trees,” she said. “See how they’re connected at the bottom? He goes, ‘My love, it’s us.’” The anecdote explains their connection to the home; it does not identify any artwork there. Architectural Digest recounts the interview.

What was reported about art at Frogmore Cottage?
In January 2019, Vanity Fair reported that Queen Elizabeth invited Harry and Meghan to choose artworks for Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. The story concerns that residence, not their later home in Montecito, and it does not establish which works—if any—were chosen or where they are now. The article cited a Royal Collection of “more than 1 million pieces”; that figure describes the Royal Collection, not the couple’s personal art holdings. Read the 2019 report.
What can be said about privacy and the art in their home?
In a 2025 interview with People, Meghan said, “I wanted to protect that safe haven,” as quoted by Realtor.com. That remark provides context for why public views into the home are limited; it does not confirm the identity or family connection of any displayed piece. Read Realtor.com’s account.
