The list below is an editorial selection—not an official Netflix ranking—using Netflix’s January–June global engagement highlights, additional franchise figures compiled by What’s on Netflix, and dated weekly chart results. Those measures cover different periods and group titles differently, so the entries are not directly comparable.
How to read this 2025 anime list
Netflix’s engagement report covers January through June 2025, captures about 99% of viewing during that period, and says the service recorded more than 95 billion hours watched across all content. Netflix’s metric is “views,” not raw episode starts; the report describes watch time, or engagement, as its best indicator of member happiness. Its anime highlights are selected examples, not a complete ranked anime chart. Read Netflix’s first-half 2025 report.
To give readers ten notable anime, this article combines those official highlights with the 2025 franchise totals compiled from Netflix engagement reports by What’s on Netflix, plus two weekly chart entries. It is not a single, apples-to-apples ranking: the compiled figures include franchise rollups, while the weekly results apply to one reported week and a non-English TV category. Netflix’s Top 10 page explains that rankings are weekly, available only in selected countries and territories, and may include titles unavailable in some regions.
10 anime to know on Netflix in 2025 so far
-
Naruto
Netflix’s first-half report records 45 million views across seasons. Separately, What’s on Netflix’s compilation gives the Naruto franchise 51.4 million views for 2025. These are not contradictory measurements to add together: they come from different report presentations and groupings. The official highlight makes Naruto one of the clearest anime standouts of the half-year.

SAKAMOTO DAYS Season 1
Netflix reports 24 million views for the season in the first half of 2025. What’s on Netflix lists 24.4 million for 2025 in its title-and-season table and the same 24.4 million as a franchise total. Netflix’s report identifies the series as an anime highlight; What’s on Netflix notes that it is based on Yuto Suzuki’s manga.
-
Pokémon
What’s on Netflix’s franchise table lists 35.4 million views in 2025. That is a rollup for the franchise, not a figure for one season or a Netflix-published position in an anime-only leaderboard.
-
The Seven Deadly Sins
The 2025 franchise total compiled by What’s on Netflix is 26.3 million views. Because this is a franchise-level figure, it should not be compared as if it measured one season against SAKAMOTO DAYS Season 1.
-
One Piece
What’s on Netflix’s franchise compilation reports 24.8 million views for 2025. The figure represents the franchise grouping used in that table, rather than an individual season’s placement on a weekly chart.

Demon Slayer
What’s on Netflix reports 22.9 million views for the franchise in 2025. Its separate title-and-season table also lists individual Demon Slayer arcs, illustrating why arc totals and franchise totals must not be mixed as though they were equivalent entries.
-
Spirited Away
Netflix’s official first-half report highlights the Studio Ghibli film at 6 million views. This is a film, not a series or franchise total.

Howl’s Moving Castle
The other Studio Ghibli film named in Netflix’s report also reached 6 million views in the first half of 2025. Its inclusion shows that Netflix’s anime highlights extend beyond serial shows.
-
DAN DA DAN Season 2
In Netflix Tudum’s report for the week of July 7, 2025, Season 2 placed No. 4 on the non-English TV list with 5.4 million views for that week. This is a dated weekly result, not a January–June total or a year-to-date global anime rank. See Netflix Tudum’s weekly Top 10 coverage.

The Summer Hikaru Died
In the same Tudum report for the week of July 7, 2025, the series placed No. 8 on the non-English TV list with 2 million weekly views. Like the DAN DA DAN result, its rank belongs to that specific list and week.
What is the most-watched anime on Netflix in 2025?
There is no single answer without choosing a measurement. In Netflix’s official first-half highlights, Naruto leads the cited anime figures with 45 million views across seasons, while SAKAMOTO DAYS Season 1 has 24 million. In What’s on Netflix’s separate 2025 franchise compilation, Naruto is listed at 51.4 million views, ahead of the other franchise totals cited here. Neither source publishes a complete, uniform Netflix anime top ten for all of 2025.
Why the rankings do not line up
- Reporting window: Netflix’s official highlights cover January–June 2025; the secondary compilation reports 2025 totals in a table spanning January 2023–June 2025; Tudum’s placements cover one week in July.
- Geography: Netflix’s first-half engagement report is global. Weekly Top 10 charts are limited to selected countries and territories.
- Metric: The report uses views, whereas Netflix’s broader engagement framing also discusses watch time. A view figure is not a count of raw episode starts.
- Grouping: A season, an individual story arc, a film, and a whole franchise are different units. Franchise totals may encompass multiple seasons or titles.
- Chart type: A weekly position on the non-English TV list is not a half-year global anime ranking.
Netflix says more than 50% of its members use the platform to watch anime, according to Tudum’s July 2025 coverage. That provides context for the category’s reach, but it does not establish an individual title’s rank.
Sources and scope
The official Netflix figures and its description of the report come from Netflix’s first-half 2025 engagement report. Additional 2025 franchise and season figures are from What’s on Netflix’s compilation, published September 5, 2025: Netflix viewing figures by title and franchise. The weekly placements and anime-viewing statistic come from Netflix Tudum’s coverage of the week of July 7, 2025, and weekly chart availability is qualified on Netflix’s Top 10 page.
