The film was still in post-production with no announced release date in Town & Country’s August 21, 2026 update, so it is not yet possible to say when audiences will see it.
What movie is Meghan Markle reportedly appearing in?
The film is Close Personal Friends, an Amazon MGM comedy. Variety reported on November 6, 2025, that Markle would make a small cameo, appearing as herself according to the reporting. Amazon MGM had no comment at the time, so the cameo should be described as reported rather than as an official character listing. Variety’s November 2025 report named Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Jack Quaid and Henry Golding among the cast.
The report describes this as a small screen appearance, not evidence that Markle has resumed a full-time acting career. She previously played Rachel Zane on Suits for seven seasons before marrying Prince Harry in 2018. Her earlier screen credits include A Lot Like Love, Horrible Bosses, Remember Me, and the Hallmark films When Sparks Fly and Dater’s Handbook. Vanity Fair dates her final Suits episode to April 25, 2018.
What is Close Personal Friends about?
The reported premise follows an ordinary couple who meet a celebrity couple during a trip to Santa Barbara. As the pairs grow closer, the relationships become awkward. Jason Orley is directing from a screenplay by Isaac Aptaker, based on a story Aptaker developed with Orley; Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger are producing, according to Variety.

When will Close Personal Friends be released?
No release date had been announced in Town & Country’s August 21, 2026 status report, which said the film remained in post-production. That is the latest dated status covered here, not a guarantee that no announcement has come since. Check for an official Amazon MGM announcement for any newer release information. Town & Country’s status update also quotes Markle, speaking to Variety about filming, saying, “It was great,” and, “It was a lot of fun.” Those comments are a brief reaction to the experience, not information about the film’s release.

No. The reported cameo in Close Personal Friends is separate from speculation about a possible Suits reunion movie. E! News reported in May 2026 that Markle’s representative said there was “no truth” to those reunion-movie rumors. That denial concerns the separate Suits speculation and does not address or negate the reported cameo in Close Personal Friends. E! News
