Megan Thee Stallion’s May 2024 “BOA” rollout featured a Boa Hancock-inspired look from One Piece, presented with the feel of PlayStation 2-era game packaging. Reports point to the hairstyle, costume and snake motif as the cues behind the cosplay; they do not establish it as an exact recreation or an officially licensed collaboration.
What is Megan Thee Stallion’s Boa Hancock cosplay?
It is a character-inspired look used in promotional imagery for Megan Thee Stallion’s single “BOA.” Coverage identified Boa Hancock—the pirate empress from One Piece—as the primary reference. ComicBook.com reported on the cosplay on May 4, 2024, and CBR described the hair, costume and snake motif as recognizable Boa Hancock cues the following day.

Why does the styling evoke PlayStation 2 games?
The presentation was reported as resembling physical PlayStation 2 game packaging or cover art, giving the promotional images a retro video-game frame. That packaging influence is distinct from the character reference: Boa Hancock is the reported cosplay inspiration, while the PS2-era look describes how the imagery was presented. Its May 4 report also reproduced a caption attributed to Megan’s May 3 social post: “Are you ready to play ? 😈🐍🎮” The wording and emojis suit the game-inspired presentation, but the caption alone does not establish details about the costume’s creation or its intended references.
