Jeremy Culhane and Veronika Slowikowska are the two described as known for viral TikTok sketches. These additions were announced in September 2025, so this is a Season 51 roster explainer—not a claim about the show’s current cast.
Who were the five new SNL cast members?
People’s Emily Blackwood reported the five additions in an article published by AOL on Sept. 3, 2025. The performers arrived by different routes: stand-up, improv, acting, short-form online comedy and work already done for SNL.

Tommy Brennan: stand-up comedy
Brennan left a corporate sales job to pursue stand-up in 2017 and performed in the Chicago area. He was named a Just for Laughs New Face of Comedy in 2023, and made his debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in June 2025, according to People’s profile reproduced by AOL.
Jeremy Culhane: TikTok sketches and improv
Culhane’s viral TikTok sketches included material about first dates and running. The same profile reports that he had done improv since high school, performed with Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles and was a regular on Dropout TV. It also lists acting credits in American Vandal, Heathers, 9-1-1, The Sex Lives of College Girls and Yes Day.

Ben Marshall: from SNL writer to featured player
Marshall had been on SNL’s writing staff since 2021 and appeared in sketches with Please Don’t Destroy, the comedy trio he formed with John Higgins and Martin Herlihy. The group’s film, Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain, was released in 2023. The People profile reported that the trio’s SNL run ended after Season 50: Higgins left the show, while Herlihy remained a writer.
Kam Patterson: stand-up and Kill Tony
Patterson is a stand-up comic whose appearances on Tony Hinchcliffe’s podcast Kill Tony helped introduce him to audiences. The September 2025 profile also said Patterson was set to appear with Marshall in Kevin Hart’s Netflix comedy 72 Hours. That was a then-upcoming-project description; it should not be taken as confirmation of the project’s present status.

How the new players reached SNL
The five did not share one route into the show. Culhane and Slowikowska brought viral short-form comedy alongside acting work; Brennan and Patterson came from stand-up, with Patterson also associated with Kill Tony. Marshall’s path ran through SNL’s writing room and Please Don’t Destroy sketches. These are different career backgrounds, not a ranking of the performers.
