The latest reported The White Lotus season 4 cast includes Laura Dern, who joined after Helena Bonham Carter departed during production. Dern is playing a newly created character, not taking over Bonham Carter’s role. HBO’s April 15, 2026 announcement remains a dated cast snapshot, rather than a final roster.
Who is in The White Lotus season 4 cast?
HBO’s April 15, 2026 production announcement named the following performers. Because that announcement predates Bonham Carter’s departure and Dern’s later addition, it should not be read as the current final cast list.
Names in HBO’s April announcement
- Vincent Cassel
- Steve Coogan
- Caleb Jonte Edwards
- Dylan Ennis
- Corentin Fila
- Ari Graynor
- Marissa Long
- Alexander Ludwig
- Chris Messina
- AJ Michalka
- Kumail Nanjiani
- Nadia Tereszkiewicz
Additional cast named in the announcement
- Chloe Bennet
- Sandra Bernhard
- Heather Graham
- Max Greenfield
- Frida Gustavsson
- Charlie Hall
- Jarrad Paul
- Rosie Perez
- Ben Schnetzer
- Laura Smet
HBO’s production announcement gives the complete list above. An earlier March 18 regional announcement said casting was still underway and named Chloe Bennet, Max Greenfield, Charlie Hall, Kumail Nanjiani and Jarrad Paul among those joining. That announcement was also an interim update, not a final roster.
Is Laura Dern replacing Helena Bonham Carter?
No. Bonham Carter appeared in HBO’s April announcement, but left after filming began. HBO said the character Mike White had created for her did not fit once production was underway, so the role was rethought and rewritten. Dern subsequently joined to play a new character, rather than inherit Bonham Carter’s part, according to El País, citing Variety. The Associated Press also reported Dern’s addition after Bonham Carter’s departure.

The announcements cited here do not establish a premiere date or say that casting is complete. The cast may change as production continues, so the April roster and later reporting are best understood as dated updates, not a definitive final list.
