Las notas de El Universo contienen una discrepancia sobre el año del ataque en que murieron Mónica Spear y Thomas Berry: una menciona 2004, mientras que la cobertura de octubre de 2023 lo sitúa en 2014 y señala que Maya tenía cinco años. Por esa inconsistencia, no corresponde presentar una fecha exacta del crimen como confirmada a partir de esas notas.
