Menudo’s former members followed very different paths: some continued performing, others moved into television, finance or production, and one prominent alumnus, Ray Reyes, died in 2021. A seven-member lineup is now touring for the group’s 50th anniversary, but it represents one reunion—not the full history of a group that featured more than 40 performers.
Who is in Menudo’s 2026 reunion lineup?
The official Menudo tour website bills its 50th Anniversary Tour as the first official reunion under the Menudo brand. It names seven former members, whose years in the group span several different roster eras:

The Associated Press reported on September 2, 2026, that the group had featured more than 40 performers across five decades and that businessperson Paul Tarnopol, who acquired the Menudo brand name, selected the reunion lineup. The seven touring performers are therefore not a complete list of alumni. The official site lists “Súbete a Mi Moto,” “Claridad” and “Quiero Ser” among the songs associated with the show. Its schedule and ticket links may change; consult the official site for current details.
In the AP interview, returning member Sergio Gonzales said, “We’re concentrating on the anniversary. But who knows what could happen in the future?” Rubén Gómez described the songs’ lasting familiarity this way: “When you hear a Menudo song, before the song ends, you already know the lyrics.”
#1 Best Overall
- With their perfect mix of dance beats and Latin rhythms, Los Mayos create a fantastic party atmosphere. Whether at a party or a carnival, the catchy melodies and danceable rhythms are a must. The title "Disco Samba" with its hit medley of well-known hits such as "El Ritmo", "Charly Brown", "Moliendo Cafe", "Ritmo De La Noche" and many more will get any party going. For the first time, Los Mayos' greatest hits are available on colored vinyl.
What happened to Menudo’s best-known alumni?
The following are selected former members, not a complete directory. Their career updates come from AARP profiles published March 20, 2023; those details describe what was reported at that time, not necessarily what each person is doing now.
Music and reunion performances
- Ricky Meléndez: An original member, he became a lawyer and later reunited with former bandmates in El Reencuentro. AARP reported that he was performing with Johnny Lozada and Miguel Cancel on the Súbete a Mi Moto tour in 2023.
- Miguel Cancel: He left Menudo in 1983, later recorded a solo single and took part in El Reencuentro. AARP’s profile described his interests and residence as reported in 2023.
- Charlie Massó: He participated in El Reencuentro, released the solo album Tributo al Príncipe in 2002, joined Menudomania Forever in 2016 and offered virtual concerts during the pandemic.
- René Farrait: In addition to joining the 2026 reunion, AARP reported that he recorded with Proyecto M, acted, appeared on La Voz Senior Perú and announced work on a Menudo documentary in 2022.
- Ray Reyes: After joining Menudo in 1983, he worked as a solo artist and with Proyecto M and El Reencuentro. AARP reported that he died in 2021 at age 51.
Television, acting and other entertainment work
- Johnny Lozada: AARP reported that he later worked as an actor and television host, joined El Reencuentro tours and won Univision’s 2013 Mira Quién Baila competition.
- Ricky Martin: He became an international solo star. His 1999 album Ricky Martin included “Livin’ la vida loca,” co-written by former bandmate Robi “Draco” Rosa. Martin is not named on the official 2026 tour roster.
- Robi “Draco” Rosa: AARP described Rosa as a solo artist whose work leaned toward alternative rock and reported that he continued making music from Puerto Rico in 2023. He is also not named on the 2026 roster.
Finance, teaching and music production
- Xavier Serbiá: After releasing music, he moved into finance, became associated with CNN en Español’s CNN Dinero and gave digital master classes, according to AARP’s 2023 profile.
- Abel Talamántez: AARP described later work with MDO, Kumbia Kings and Los Super Reyes. In 2023, he was living in Mexico City and pursuing solo work and production.
Why there is no single “current Menudo” roster
Menudo changed members repeatedly over the decades, with performers joining and leaving at different points. That history explains why familiar alumni such as Martin and Rosa can be central to Menudo’s legacy without appearing in the official anniversary lineup. The reunion gathers seven former members for a particular tour; it does not claim to represent every era or alumnus.

For a documentary-minded view of the group’s legacy, the most useful distinction is between the current reunion and the larger succession of performers: the first is a specific 2026 lineup, while the second includes more than 40 people according to the AP. AARP’s 2023 profiles offer dated snapshots of selected post-Menudo careers, rather than a verified update on every former member in October 2026.
