AARP says McCarthy and Falcone met in a comedy-writing class at The Groundlings in Los Angeles in 1998. Biography.com places that meeting about ten years after their teenage encounter in Indiana. The two accounts distinguish the first reported crossing of paths from the class where they met as aspiring comedy performers and writers.
October 8, 2005: They marry
McCarthy and Falcone married on October 8, 2005, according to Biography.com. AARP also reports their marriage in 2005.

2007 and 2010: Their daughters are born
Biography.com gives May 5, 2007, as the birth date of their first daughter, Vivian, and March 22, 2010, as the birth date of their second daughter, Georgette. AARP likewise identifies them as parents of two daughters.
By 2014: Their relationship becomes a creative partnership
McCarthy and Falcone also worked together in film, including writing and production. Their collaboration on Tammy began with an idea Falcone brought to McCarthy. In a 2014 interview with TIME, Falcone recalled the premise: “I want to write a movie where you take a road trip with your grandma,” he said. “And I think she’s an alcoholic.” TIME described Tammy as their first film written together and Falcone’s directorial debut.
