Mister Ruiz is the stage name of Abelardo Ruiz, a DJ and electronic music producer from São Carlos, São Paulo. His career has included independent releases, label associations, reported playlist placements and club appearances—but the available profiles document specific milestones, not an independently measured claim that he “quickly conquered” the electronic music scene.
Who is Mister Ruiz?
A 2021 Eletro Vibez interview identifies Mister Ruiz as Abelardo Ruiz, from São Carlos in the Brazilian state of São Paulo. Ruiz recalled an early interest in electronic music, childhood singing and musicalization lessons, and attending festivals including Tomorrowland and Ultra Music. These details come from his interview rather than independently verified education or career records.
He told Eletro Vibez that he began learning production through music theory lessons, a complete Make Music Now online course and YouTube tutorials. He also described starting a track with a clear idea of its intended goal, then experimenting to find what worked. In another interview, he said “Dreaming in Circles” began with notes and chords inspired by a recurring dream.
What kind of music does he make?
Ruiz has described his music as spanning House subgenres rather than fitting one fixed label. In the 2021 Eletro Vibez interview, he said he was then making more pop-oriented tracks with prominent vocals as well as Slap House. He described his sets as featuring Slap House, Progressive House and pop, and named Tiësto, David Guetta, Meduza, Calvin Harris and Avicii among his recent inspirations.

A later Generation Dance biography places him in the Melodic House & Techno scene. That later description adds context to how his sound has been presented, but it does not establish a permanent or exclusive genre. Ruiz told POPline in 2021, “Meu objetivo é sempre explorar minha identidade musical, fazer o que gosto e acredito” (“My objective is always to explore my musical identity, to do what I like and believe in”).
How did Mister Ruiz’s career develop?
Early releases and “Dreaming in Circles”
In a profile published on April 7, 2021, POPline described Ruiz as 23 and reported that he had released more than five independent tracks in a little over a year. The article highlighted “Dreaming in Circles,” released March 26, 2021, and reported that his music had exceeded 3.5 million Spotify streams by the time of publication. That is a dated figure from the article, not a current listening total.

Labels, club appearance and reported playlist milestones
The Eletro Vibez interview reported that Ruiz had released music independently and made a release with Austro Music. An undated We Go Out profile also names Controversia Records, Austro Music and You Love Dance among his label associations, and reports that he made his Laroc Club debut in November 2022.
We Go Out reports that “Feeling Good” spent five weeks as the cover of Spotify’s Brazilian “Dance Paradise” playlist and that Ruiz was also featured on the cover of the international “Main Stage” playlist. The profile attributes the placements to Spotify but does not date them. It also reports 46 million Spotify streams without specifying a measurement date.
