The series premieres exclusively on Disney+ on 14 October 2026, and its story places Ultron inside the rebuilt Vision’s programming.
What is the Vision series called?
Marvel’s current official title is VisionQuest. Marvel confirmed the title and Spader’s return at New York Comic Con on 11 October 2025, naming Paul Bettany as Vision and Terry Matalas as showrunner. Marvel’s announcement describes the project as the final installment in a trilogy that began with WandaVision (2021) and continued with Agatha All Along (2024).
How Ultron fits into the story
The rebuilt Vision is trying to establish who he is while in hiding. Disney’s synopsis says he consults AI personas embedded in his programming, including Ultron, and goes on the run with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be his son reincarnate. Vision must resist Ultron’s influence; the official description does not specify how that conflict will unfold.
Disney explains that White Vision received the memories of the Vision who lived with Wanda in Westview, then left after their encounter. VisionQuest follows this rebuilt Vision as he reckons with those memories and his identity. Disney+’s series guide provides the current premise and cast details.

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) is the most direct rewatch for Spader’s earlier portrayal of Ultron; Marvel ties his return to that role in its casting announcement. For the broader story sequence, watch WandaVision, then Agatha All Along, followed by VisionQuest. Marvel describes the latter three series as a trilogy, though the official synopsis frames VisionQuest around Vision’s own identity and the AI presences in his programming.
