What is known about their relationship?
PerthNow described Brancato as Perry’s personal assistant and framed their connection as a friendship as well as a working relationship. Its report said she was 34 at the time and quoted her saying she had cared for Perry for seven years. Those details are the report’s account of Brancato and her post.
Was Brancato the assistant Perry called “Erin” in his memoir?
That identification is not confirmed by the report. PerthNow said Perry wrote in his autobiography about a close, platonic relationship with a female personal assistant, whom he called his “best friend” and said had “saved” his life. The memoir used the pseudonym Erin, but the report does not establish that Erin was Brancato.

Time identified Perry’s 2022 memoir as Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing. Its account of the assistant relationship is separate from Brancato’s public tribute; the two accounts should not be treated as proof that the people are the same.
