Was Mark Harmon in the NCIS: Origins crossover?
Yes. Harmon appeared as present-day Gibbs in the NCIS: Origins portion, titled “Funny How Time Slips Away.” Austin Stowell played Gibbs in the prequel’s early-1990s timeline. What the crossover trailer headline referred to

That supports the headline’s framing as a trailer announcement ahead of the broadcast, but not claims about particular shots, dialogue, or exclusive footage. The crossover itself has since aired.

The crossover recap should be kept separate from later storylines. CBS’s current listing describes Season 3’s “Don’t You Forget About Me,” dated October 5, 2026, as a different story: present-day ghosts from Gibbs’s past disturb his Alaska retirement while the 1992 team tries to rescue Randy.
