The two separate Barbie Signature collector dolls launched in 2024, with a reported launch price of $55 each. Gizmodo framed the pair as Gotham’s “greatest love story,” but that is the article’s characterization, not a relationship claim made on Mattel’s product pages.
Which characters are the Batman Barbie dolls?
They are Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. Neither doll is Batman or Catwoman. Mattel presented Harley as a colorful, chaotic way to mark Batman’s 85th anniversary; Gizmodo described Harley and Poison Ivy together as a Gotham power couple in its September 18, 2024 coverage. That “couple” framing belongs to the article, rather than being a relationship history established by the product listings.
How do the dolls compare?
| Detail | Harley Quinn | Poison Ivy |
|---|---|---|
| Mattel product name and SKU | Harley Quinn Barbie Doll, HRM84 (Mattel Creations) | Poison Ivy Barbie Doll, HRM51 (Mattel Creations) |
| Costume and palette | Black-and-red styling (Mattel Creations) | Gizmodo describes leafy eye makeup; the reviewed Mattel listing identifies the character and anniversary edition but does not detail the palette |
| Documented accessories | Mallet; a doll stand is included, and Mattel says the doll cannot stand alone | Gizmodo describes a small Venus flytrap accessory and a gold wrist crossbow |
| Designers or packaging details | Bill Greening and Stone Procaccino; certificate of authenticity and Gold label (Mattel Creations) | Not stated in the reviewed Mattel product listing |
| Launch context | Barbie 59 member preorder window listed by Mattel for September 17 at 9:00 p.m. PT through September 18 at 8:59 p.m. PT, 2024 | Gizmodo reported a $55 launch price in September 2024; the reviewed Mattel listing identifies it as a Batman 85th-anniversary celebration doll |
Mattel’s Harley listing gives its price as $55, and Gizmodo reported both dolls at $55 each at launch in September 2024. Those are launch-price facts, not confirmation of what either doll costs now.
What were the preorder terms?
Mattel’s Harley product page set a limited Barbie 59 member preorder period: September 17, 2024, at 9:00 p.m. PT through September 18 at 8:59 p.m. PT. The page named Amazon.com among retailers where the doll might be available during that launch window. This does not establish that an Amazon listing is active today or confirm its current seller, stock, or price. The reviewed sources do not establish current availability for either doll.

What should collectors know before shopping?
The listings establish the dolls’ identities, SKUs, and certain design and accessory details; they do not establish rarity, resale value, sales performance, or collector demand. A $55 launch price alone is not evidence that either doll is an investment. If looking for one now, check the seller, condition, and asking price directly, and distinguish a current offer from the 2024 launch terms.
