It claimed that Shuri would become Black Panther, M’Baku would become king, and Doctor Doom would be revealed; the post itself does not establish that its author had inside access or that the claims were complete. The released film’s official premise confirms a story about Wakanda mourning T’Challa, defending itself amid global interest in vibranium, and confronting Namor and Talokan.
What did the alleged plot leak claim?
A fan-community post presented as a “full plot leak” included three headline claims: Shuri becomes the next Black Panther, M’Baku becomes king, and the film reveals Doctor Doom. Those are claims made by that user-generated post—not confirmed details about who wrote it, how they obtained the information, or whether it accurately captured the finished film.
The distinction matters: an online post is evidence of what a poster said, not proof of a studio source or an authentic, complete script. The film’s official descriptions provide a firmer account of its central conflict, but do not validate the post’s provenance.
What is the confirmed story of Wakanda Forever?
Marvel’s official premise says Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye, and the Dora Milaje work to protect Wakanda after King T’Challa’s death. Nakia, a War Dog, and Everett Ross also help the kingdom find a way forward. The film was released in the United States on November 11, 2022, and was directed and co-written by Ryan Coogler. Marvel’s film page and Marvel’s official trailer coverage describe the premise and release.

Wakanda’s grief unfolds alongside a struggle over vibranium. Disney’s account says the wider world knows of the resource and wants access to it; the film introduces Talokan, a hidden undersea nation led by Namor. D23’s pre-release story describes Talokan as newly exposed to danger after Wakanda revealed vibranium to the world. Disney’s film page and D23’s first-look coverage establish that conflict.
These official descriptions confirm the broad conflict and characters, not every scene or every alleged leak detail. They also do not establish that the Reddit post was authentic. The post’s specific claims should therefore remain attributed to the post rather than presented as verified reporting.

Why is T’Challa’s absence central to the film?
Wakanda Forever followed the death of Chadwick Boseman in 2020. The filmmakers chose not to recast T’Challa and instead carried the story forward with the ensemble. In D23’s coverage, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said, “When we lost Chad, all of that obviously was then poured into this movie — keeping the idea of a celebration of Wakanda and the character at the forefront, in addition to the grief that comes with that.”
Director Ryan Coogler described the film’s focus as the people nearest to the loss: “What we wanted to look at was, when you lose somebody, there’s a blast radius — you know, like a bomb that goes off. Who was the closest to it? That’s who we explored. The main characters, their identities were kind of wrapped up in this man, is the truth of it.”

That approach makes mourning part of the story’s foundation rather than a brief setup before a new hero takes over. Producer Nate Moore told Disney that the characters’ responses include more than grief: “I think, as storytellers, you just want to be as honest as possible with what the characters would experience in the film after they experience the loss of T’Challa. And that is not just grief — it’s also sometimes joy, sometimes humor. It is all of the emotions anyone feels with any profound loss.”
Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri, described her character’s journey as a full emotional arc. She said, “I think the way it was written and the delicacy, the gentleness of how we approached it — we were able to bring something that felt real, that felt truthful. I was able to really give my heart to it and give Shuri a full arc, and hopefully people can really resonate with that and find some healing, alongside us, with it.” These comments appear in Disney’s film coverage.

How should you read the “massive leak” headline?
- As a description of a post: it points to a fan-forum post that circulated alleged plot details before release.
- Not as proof of insider access: the post does not establish who supplied the claims or how they were obtained.
- Not as a complete account of the film: an allegation about a few plot points cannot, by itself, prove that the entire plot was revealed.
- Against the released story: official sources confirm the film’s broad story of loss, vibranium pressure, and conflict involving Namor and Talokan; they are a more reliable basis for describing the movie than an unverified post.
In short, the headline’s “leak” language should be understood as the fan post’s framing, not as a verified Marvel disclosure. The evidence supports saying what the post claimed and what the released film’s official premise establishes—no more.
