L’Oréal Paris described the Matildas and Manchester City footballer as the first footballer to walk its show. The event took place during Paris fashion week showings, but was not on the official Paris Fashion Week calendar.
What happened at Le Défilé?
Fowler walked in the 2025 edition of Le Défilé, L’Oréal Paris’s beauty and fashion showcase, held at the Hôtel de Ville in Paris. The brand’s Australia and New Zealand account called the appearance both her runway debut and a first for a footballer at the show. The Guardian independently reported that Fowler was making her catwalk debut; the “first footballer” description is L’Oréal Paris’s claim.
She walked alongside L’Oréal Paris ambassadors including Kendall Jenner, Jane Fonda, Eva Longoria, Viola Davis, Helen Mirren and Gillian Anderson. L’Oréal describes Le Défilé as an annual showcase staged during Fashion Week at prominent Paris locations and presented as open to the public.
Was Mary Fowler at Paris Fashion Week?
Yes, in the sense that Le Défilé took place during the spring/summer 2026 womenswear showings in Paris. But The Guardian reported that the L’Oréal show was not on Paris Fashion Week’s official calendar, which is set by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode and lists fashion brands. The precise description is that Fowler walked a L’Oréal Paris show during Paris Fashion Week, not an official-calendar runway show.

What did Fowler say about her runway debut?
Before the event, Fowler told The Guardian: “This will be my first time walking a runway so I am a little nervous, but while it’s a little outside of my comfort zone, the opportunity to walk alongside extraordinary women in a celebration of women’s empowerment, inclusion, and sisterhood is truly inspiring.”
How does the 2025 appearance fit into Fowler’s L’Oréal partnership?
Fowler was already a L’Oréal Paris ambassador. The brand’s Australia and New Zealand profile lists several of her favorite products, including Revitalift Vitamin C 12% Pure Brightening Face Serum and Volume Million Lashes Panorama Mascara Black. That profile does not establish which products, if any, she wore at Le Défilé; it should not be treated as confirmation of her runway makeup.
