Ripa spoke about knowing Saul as her father-in-law for 31 years. “I can honestly say I will miss him every day for the rest of my life, as I know you will, as our children will. He was the greatest person I’ve ever known,” she said, according to E! News.

Mark’s later reflection on grief
On the May 12, 2026 episode of I’ve Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario, Mark spoke about the difficult period leading up to Saul’s death and the absence he felt afterward. AARP published its account on May 13. “He’s the best man I’ve ever met,” Mark said.
He also described missing ordinary moments of closeness: “I’m going to miss giving him a hug or holding his hand or just, you know, laughing with him.” Mark added, “The reality of him being gone hit, of him actually being gone,” according to AARP.
