Margarita Rosa de Francisco ha contado que la escoliosis progresiva fue detectada durante su adolescencia y que, tras una operación, pasó nueve meses con yeso o corsé en el torso. La escoliosis: diagnóstico, cirugía y recuperación
En una entrevista publicada por la revista BOCAS de El Tiempo en 2014, de Francisco recordó que la escoliosis se hizo visible mientras estudiaba ballet. Dijo que le diagnosticaron una forma progresiva que requería una operación y que, después de la cirugía, llevó un yeso desde el pecho hasta la cintura durante nueve meses. En una columna personal de 2016, describió el aparato como un corsé de yeso que le sujetó el torso durante esos nueve meses. También escribió que durante la intervención le fijaron la columna a una barra de metal en las vértebras lumbares. En esa misma columna contó que el ejercicio llegó a ocupar un lugar central en su vida, pero lo relató como parte de su historia personal, no como una recomendación ni como tratamiento para la escoliosis. Lo que dijo sobre la movilidad y la cicatriz
En una entrevista de Ventaneando difundida por TV Azteca en enero de 2024, explicó que la cirugía dejó limitada la movilidad de su columna: “Primero tuvieron que atornillarme la columna, entonces yo no tengo movilidad en mi columna”. Describió que a veces se siente presa de su cuerpo y habló de aceptar esa inmovilidad. También se refirió con orgullo a su cicatriz y recordó haber pasado casi un año con yeso y nueve meses fuera de su entrenamiento. Los ataques de pánico: una historia que empezó en la niñez
En la entrevista de BOCAS de 2014, de Francisco dijo que sus ataques de pánico comenzaron a los nueve años. Recordó que su madre la llevó con la psicoanalista infantil Florentina Londoño y que permaneció en ese proceso durante diez años. Son datos de su testimonio publicado entonces; no permiten concluir si recibió terapia después ni cuál es su situación actual.

Al preguntarle en 2023 si habían cesado los ataques, respondió: “Tengo muchos menos, porque un ataque de pánico es como un asalto: viene de pronto y no tiene pies ni cabeza, ni uno sabe exactamente qué lo dispara.” En esa entrevista con EL PAÍS, describió cómo procuraba responder cuando le ocurrían: “Pero las veces que me ha pasado ya no actúo como antes, sino que lo siento y dejo que esa energía o esa vibración —lo que sea que se llame— pase por mi cuerpo y se vaya.”
