The post appeared on Sunday, June 9, 2024. It was Morris’s own social-media post—not a press release—publicly identifying her as bisexual.
Why did she choose Pride Month?
In a December 2024 interview with ELLE, Morris said she had not wanted to make the announcement through a press release. She explained the timing simply: “It was Pride Month. I’m just going to say it.” That sentence came in the later interview; it was not part of the Instagram caption.

What did Morris say later about coming out?
In a 2025 interview with the Associated Press, Morris reflected that she “just maybe, internally, hadn’t had the bravery to go there in myself, and say the words out loud.” She also discussed the uncertainty she had felt about telling people she was attracted to women while married, after spending most of her life in straight relationships.
Those comments were retrospective reflections in 2025, not explanations she gave in the June 2024 post. The post itself was brief: Morris marked Pride Month and said she was happy to be the “B” in LGBTQ+.
