How late did Madonna start?
| Timing | What the source reported |
|---|---|
| Scheduled start | 21:45 local time, according to Rio de Janeiro City Hall’s 2024 operational plan. |
| Reported performance start | 22:37 local time, nearly 50 minutes late, according to The Associated Press’s May 4, 2024 report. |
| Reported stage entrance | About 22:45, after roughly an hour’s delay, according to Gshow’s May 4, 2024 account. |
The AP and Gshow accounts differ by several minutes. The careful answer is to attribute each time to its outlet rather than treat them as identical measurements.

How long was the show, and how large was the crowd?
City Hall’s plan projected a two-hour concert. Gshow described a performance lasting more than two hours, so the planned duration should not be mistaken for a confirmed runtime. Gshow’s event report.
The Associated Press reported an estimated attendance of 1.6 million, attributing that estimate to G1 and Rio City Hall’s tourism agency. It is an estimate, not a count independently established in the AP report.
