Lee Jung-jae said he was surprised that The Acolyte would not return after its first season. The actor, who played Jedi Master Sol, praised creator Leslye Headland’s writing and said he had looked forward to seeing her continue the story. His hope that circumstances might change was personal—not confirmation of a planned revival.
What Lee Jung-jae said about the cancellation

Why Lee did not expect to return as Sol
Lee played Jedi Master Sol in the Disney+ series, set in the High Republic era. Sol died in the first-season finale, so Lee said he would not have been in a second season. His surprise was about the series ending, not an expectation that Sol would return.
