What changed in the 2026 route?
Queensland: Brisbane to the Gold Coast
Laneway moved its Queensland date from Brisbane to Southport Sharks on the Gold Coast, on Yugambeh Land. ABC triple j attributed the relocation to planned redevelopment at Brisbane Showgrounds ahead of the 2032 Olympics, and reported that the festival selected a Gold Coast location.

In August 2026, Laneway announced a 2027 route covering Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland. Adelaide and Perth took a pause, and the festival said it would return to Brisbane Showgrounds after its one-year move to the Gold Coast. The later route is distinct from the six-city 2026 schedule. The 2027 announcement report attributed a statement to the Laneway Festival team, which said that running shows so close together across a large area placed demands on the lineup and crew. Laneway’s official website now displays 2027 edition information.
