Juliana Aidén Martinez joined Law & Order: SVU Season 26 as Detective Kate Silva. The season’s regular lineup also included Mariska Hargitay, Ice-T, Octavio Pisano, Kevin Kane and Peter Scanavino. Kelli Giddish returned as Amanda Rollins for multiple guest appearances—not as a Season 26 regular. Later reports clarified that Martinez and Pisano left the regular cast in the Season 26 finale, while Giddish became a regular again in Season 27.
Who is the new detective in Season 26?
Juliana Aidén Martinez plays Detective Kate Silva, the new detective added to the squad in Season 26. Universal Pictures At Home identifies Martinez and Silva in its official Season 26 cast guide. Later reporting says Martinez exited the regular cast in the season finale; that describes her regular-cast status, not whether Silva could ever appear again.

Is Kelli Giddish back as Amanda Rollins?
Yes. Giddish appears multiple times in Season 26, but as a guest star. Rollins is working with the NYPD Intelligence Unit and travels as part of that job, which helps explain why she is not regularly attached to the SVU squad. In a September 5, 2024 TVLine report, executive producer Julie Martin said, “Rollins is definitely coming back to the show.” Showrunner and executive producer David Graziano described her as a guest star who would “make a bunch of appearances throughout the season.” They did not specify an episode count.
Who left after Season 26?
TV Insider reported on May 15, 2025 that Pisano and Martinez would leave the regular cast in the Season 26 finale. In other words, Velasco and Silva were part of Season 26, even though their actors’ regular-cast status changed at its end. The report does not establish that either character could never return.

How did the cast change in Season 27?
Season 27 developments should be kept separate from the Season 26 lineup. In its May 15, 2025 report, TV Insider said Giddish returned as a series regular after recurring in Season 26. Peacock’s September 17, 2025 Season 27 guide lists Pisano as a special guest star and Giddish among the regular cast. These later listings do not change their Season 26 statuses.
