The Recording Academy’s recap describes Gaga’s cabaret-style entrance behind a heart-shaped plume of feathers at Square Barye. Why people expected “La Vie en Rose”
Pre-ceremony coverage predicted that Gaga and Dion might perform “La Vie en Rose” together. The Guardian published that expectation on July 25, and Euronews repeated it in an event-day preview. Those reports described an anticipated performance, not confirmation of what ultimately happened.
Post-event coverage clarified that the singers performed separately and did not sing “La Vie en Rose” as a duet. Forbes’ post-ceremony account addresses the mistaken duet expectation.

Dion’s official site says the live recording of “Hymne à l’amour” was released on October 10, 2024, the 61st anniversary of Piaf’s death. The site lists the recording for streaming and download and links to the full performance video. The release date is not the date of the Olympic performance, which took place on July 26.
