In an August 2025 interview, Lana Del Rey said the attention around her wedding to Jeremy Dufrene was overwhelming: “They flew in drones to watch us!” She also described the first year of marriage as difficult, while speaking warmly about her husband and their life together. The ceremony took place on September 26, 2024, in Des Allemands, Louisiana, according to the marriage license reviewed by the Associated Press.
What Lana Del Rey said about the wedding
Del Rey discussed the wedding scrutiny in an interview with Lynn Hirschberg published by W Magazine on August 26, 2025, nearly a year after the ceremony. She recalled that drones were flown in to watch the couple and said her emotions were overwhelming, while Dufrene remained calm. The drone remark is her account in the interview; it is not independent confirmation of the flights.
She described their first year of marriage as difficult, in part because of the attention surrounding her. Her comments offered a personal account of the pressure around the wedding rather than a detailed account of the ceremony itself.
When and where Lana Del Rey married Jeremy Dufrene
The Associated Press reviewed the filed Louisiana marriage license. It records that Del Rey and Dufrene married on September 26, 2024, at 3:33 p.m. in Des Allemands, Louisiana, with pastor Judah Smith officiating. The couple obtained their license from the Lafourche Parish Clerk of Court on September 23, according to AP reporting.

What Del Rey said about her relationship with Dufrene
In the W Magazine interview, Del Rey said she realized “pretty immediately” after meeting Dufrene that she loved him, while also anticipating that the relationship could be difficult because of “what I was bringing to the table.” The profile says she took one of his Louisiana boat tours in 2019 and that they reconnected several years later.
She called Dufrene “the most impactful person in my life.” Del Rey also described their “parking-lot time”: sitting together in a car to read or talk. She said “Stars Fell on Alabama” was the only song she had written about him at that point.

Her earlier comments about married life
Del Rey had spoken publicly about the marriage before the W interview. At the InStyle Imagemaker Awards in October 2024, she described married life as “good” and said she and Dufrene were “very happy,” according to The Independent. The outlet also reported her remarks about paparazzi and concerns about being followed. Those comments came shortly after the wedding; the more detailed reflections on wedding scrutiny and their relationship came in 2025.
