The coverage concerned reports about the club’s off-season Las Vegas trip; the label “scandal” was media framing, not an independently established account of private events. In January 2026, Lachie Neale confirmed that he and Jules had separated.
What Jules Neale said in April 2024
PerthNow reported on 7 April 2024 that Jules Neale had spoken to The Courier Mail amid coverage of tension linked to the Brisbane Lions’ off-season US trip. PerthNow attributed this statement to her: “I think Lachie and I have a really solid relationship, which is all that really matters”. Read PerthNow’s report.
Fox Sports published a related report the same day, attributing comments to an interview with The Sunday Mail. It quoted Jules saying: “Every relationship has different pressures, it’s important to keep the outside noise out, in any relationship regardless of it being in the public eye, unfortunately, it’s inevitable that people are going to have their own opinion”. Fox Sports also attributed this comment to her: “We all have great relationships, however a lot of people forget that the club is just a fraction of our lives, so we all have great friendships and lives outside of this as well”. Read Fox Sports’ report.
What those reports do—and do not—establish
The reports record comments attributed to Jules in newspaper interviews. They are secondary accounts; the available coverage does not include an original interview transcript. Her remarks show what she publicly said at the time, but they do not independently verify allegations or rumors about what happened on the trip, or settle every claim made in media coverage.
