David continued: “He just couldn’t admit to losing. And we know he lost. He knows he lost. And look how he’s fooled everybody. He’s convinced all these people that he didn’t lose. It’s — he’s a — such a sick man. He’s so sick.” He ended: “Anyway, no, it hasn’t impacted me at all.”
The phrase “250 years of democracy” also appeared in David’s answer as rhetoric; it is not a statistic established by the interview transcript.

When and where did David make the remarks?
David made the comments in an interview with Chris Wallace. CNN aired the segment on Inside Politics on March 29, 2024, identifying the interview as part of Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace. What was the context of the interview?
The exchange focused on Trump’s refusal to accept the 2020 election result and the aftermath. David said Trump had been unable to admit defeat and had persuaded supporters that he had not lost. Those statements are David’s claims in the interview; this segment is not a separate examination of the election or a fact-check of his account.
The CNN broadcast also placed David’s political comments alongside Curb Your Enthusiasm, then in its final season, and its satire involving Georgia’s election law. Those details describe the program as discussed in the 2024 segment.
