How did the premiere fit the film’s release plans?
At the time of AP’s May 19, 2024 interview, Chapter One was scheduled to open in US theaters on June 28, with Chapter Two then scheduled for August 16. These were the release plans reported in 2024, not a current schedule.
AP also reported that Costner had spent more than 30 years trying to make the project and mortgaged his Santa Barbara estate to help finance it. The interview described the production as “$100 million-plus”; that is AP’s reported figure, not an independently audited cost. Associated Press interview
