Yes. Keanu Reeves voices Shadow the Hedgehog in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Paramount’s official film page and press materials, along with a SEGA cast announcement, confirm the role; the old “it’s claimed” framing is no longer needed.
Who voices Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3?
Keanu Reeves is Shadow’s voice actor in the film. Paramount lists Reeves as Shadow on its official film page, and its February 17, 2025 press release names him in the cast. SEGA’s January 22, 2025 announcement also includes Reeves among the film’s cast. Paramount’s official film-photo captions identify the character as “Shadow (Keanu Reeves).”

Is Reeves’s Shadow also in a Sonic game?
There is a related game tie-in, separate from the film role. In a September 24, 2024 post, the PlayStation Blog announced a Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Movie Pack for Sonic X Shadow Generations, describing gameplay and cinematics voiced by Reeves. That announcement establishes the tie-in, but not its current price, availability, or platform-specific listing.
What is—and is not—established about the casting?
The official sources establish Reeves’s cast credit as Shadow. They do not establish why he was selected, what negotiations took place, or how he approached the performance. The original report’s publisher and date are also not established by the cited official materials, so the claim’s earlier reporting history cannot be reliably pinned down here.

What else did SEGA announce?
In its January 22, 2025 release, SEGA reported that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 had made $425 million worldwide, exceeding the $405 million record it attributed to the previous film. That is SEGA’s dated box-office statement, not a live or current total. The same announcement gave March 19, 2027 as the US release date for Sonic 4.
