Calling the look part of her “bridal era” is a fashion interpretation—not an identification of the gown as a wedding dress.
What did Justine Lupe wear to the 2025 Emmys?
Lupe wore a Carolina Herrera Fall 2025 column gown with a halter neckline, woven silver beads and silver paillettes, according to Marie Claire. The Los Angeles Times also identified her red-carpet look as Carolina Herrera. The gown’s light-catching embellishment and sheer fabric gave it a glamorous, romantic quality that can invite a bridal comparison.
Why describe it as part of a “bridal era”?
“Bridal era” captures the impression of a romantic, feminine, occasion-ready look; it does not establish that Lupe wore bridalwear. In her Marie Claire interview, Lupe described the gown as “It’s this beautiful, glamorous, glitzy bombshell situation—it’s such a celebratory piece.” She said she wanted to lean into that bombshell impression, a departure from the kind of look she usually chose.
Lupe also explained what that approach meant to her: “When I think of a bombshell, I think of someone who’s like, free and confident and leaning into the femininity of the dress.” That is her personal description of the look, rather than a statement from the designer.

Was it a wedding dress?
No. The available coverage identifies the gown as a Carolina Herrera runway evening look from Fall 2025, worn to the Emmys—not as a wedding dress. “Bridal era” is a way to describe the styling’s romantic impression, not the garment’s documented category.
How did Lupe handle the sheer gown?
The transparency required some thought. Who What Wear reports that Lupe was concerned about navigating the sheerness, and that she and her team considered undergarments while trying to preserve the gown’s transparent effect. The reporting does not specify exactly what undergarments she wore.
