According to Rolling Stone, McCartney wrote in an Instagram story that he would not represent West “due to his harmful and hateful remarks that myself nor 33&West can stand for.” The wording is as reproduced by the publication; it is not a direct account of the original post.
Why did 33&West stop representing him?
McCartney cited remarks by West that he and 33&West could not stand for. The report does not provide contract terms or establish whether 33&West had formally signed West as a client, or when that might have happened. It therefore supports describing McCartney’s announcement as an agent saying he would stop representing West—not asserting a verified agency-wide contract history or later status.

Which staffer quit?
Rolling Stone reported that Eric Cui, identified as West’s one-time chief of staff, quit on Sunday, February 9, 2025. Cui gave a separate reason in a statement posted to Instagram: “I loved working at YZY because I believed in your dream. I believe in free speech … so I will use my free speech to say that violence and crimes against women and children is wrong.” His statement specifically condemned violence and crimes against women and children.

How does this differ from the earlier CAA split?
The 33&West report concerned McCartney’s 2025 statement. It is separate from the earlier split with Creative Artists Agency (CAA), which CBS News reported on October 24, 2022, after Ye made antisemitic remarks.
