Jungkook’s GOLDEN Sets a Billboard 200 Longevity Milestone—But What Does “Most Stable” Mean?

Jungkook’s GOLDEN passed V’s Layover with nine consecutive Billboard 200 weeks in January 2024. Later reports cite 20 and 25 total weeks, though the latter needs Billboard confirmation.

Jungkook’s solo debut album GOLDEN reached a documented milestone of nine consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200 in January 2024, surpassing the eight-week mark then associated with V’s Layover. “Most stable” refers to chart longevity—not a consistently high ranking or steady sales. Later reports put GOLDEN at 20 weeks by March 2024 and, in one unverified 2026 account, 25 weeks; the latter total and any claim that the record remains current need confirmation from Billboard.

What record did Jungkook’s GOLDEN set?

The January 2024 milestone was GOLDEN’s ninth consecutive week on the Billboard 200, the U.S. albums chart. Soompi reported that the album passed the eight consecutive weeks then associated with Layover, V’s solo album. That comparison concerns consecutive weeks on the chart, not the albums’ peak positions. Soompi, January 10, 2024.

GOLDEN is Jungkook’s solo debut album. The Associated Press described it at release in November 2023 as his first solo album and noted its pop influences. Associated Press, November 3, 2023.

How many weeks did it spend on the chart?

The reported count changed over time. In March 2024, Soompi reported that GOLDEN had reached 20 weeks on the Billboard 200, describing it as the first album by a Korean solo artist to reach that total. Soompi, March 2024.

A KStarTrend article dated May 5, 2026, mentions 25 weeks, but the available account does not provide primary Billboard confirmation for that figure. It should be treated as a secondary report rather than a verified current total. Without a Billboard chart history confirming the count, it is also not possible to establish from these reports alone whether GOLDEN still holds the record today. KStarTrend, May 5, 2026.

What “most stable” means—and what it does not

In this headline, “stable” is an imprecise way to describe longevity: how many weeks an album remains on a chart. It does not mean GOLDEN stayed near the top, held one position week after week, or maintained a particular level of sales. Those are different measures, and the reports cited here do not establish them.

There are also two distinct longevity counts in the coverage: nine consecutive weeks was the January 2024 milestone, while the later reports give total chart-week counts of 20 and, less securely, 25. A total-week count should not be presented as a consecutive-week streak unless a source explicitly confirms that.

What can be stated with confidence?

  • GOLDEN was reported to have logged nine consecutive Billboard 200 weeks in January 2024, passing the eight-week comparison with V’s Layover.
  • Soompi reported 20 total weeks for GOLDEN in March 2024.
  • A May 2026 secondary report mentions 25 weeks, but the evidence cited here does not verify that total with Billboard or establish the record’s current status.

These figures describe chart presence, not peak rank, sales consistency, or a definitive all-time standing confirmed by Billboard.
