He first put it on before a college bowl game after spotting it in her room—not because of a brand deal or a gift she had given him.
How Dart found the necklace
Dart explained the story at New York Giants rookie minicamp. Leaving home over Christmas break before a bowl game, he noticed the necklace in his sister’s room, liked it and put it on. “It’s kind of been good luck for me ever since,” he said in the Giants interview transcript.
That account describes him taking a necklace he saw in her room; Dart did not say she gave it to him as a present.
What the necklace means to him
In a later interview, Dart said the hearts remind him of love and bringing people together. He also described the necklace’s importance as personal: “It’s definitely very valuable to me, because like I said, it’s a relationship thing between me and my sister,” he told CBS News New York. He was talking about emotional value, not giving a price.

CBS reported that the stones are not real diamonds. Neither that report nor the Giants transcript identifies the maker, exact model or full material composition, so the necklace cannot be reliably matched to a retail listing.
How his family reacted—and which bowl game started it
Dart said his sister liked that he wore her necklace. His family got her another necklace, and his younger brother ordered one too, according to the Giants transcript.

The bowl game he was leaving for was Ole Miss’s Gator Bowl matchup with Duke. FOX Sports reported that Ole Miss won 52–20, with Dart throwing for 404 yards and four touchdowns. Those are game figures reported by FOX Sports in 2025; they give context to the necklace’s origin, not evidence that it caused his performance.
