Joni Mitchell’s January 31, 2024 announcement gave “overwhelming demand” as the reason for adding the second show. What were the original ticket and presale details?
For the added October 20 show, the artist archive said fans had to sign up for Joni Mitchell’s email list to access the artist presale code. It did not publish that code in the announcement. Tickets were scheduled to go on sale Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 10 a.m. PT. For comparison, the original October 19 show’s public onsale was scheduled for Friday, February 2, 2024, at 10 a.m., according to the archive’s January 30 announcement.
Those onsale dates have passed. The performances are complete, and the cited sources do not establish whether any tickets are currently available through resale or another seller.

What happened during the October 20 performance?
Mitchell’s official October 20 chronology lists two sets and 27 songs. It opens with “Be Cool,” “Harlem In Havana” and “Hejira,” and closes with “Shine” and “The Circle Game.” Other listed songs include “Both Sides Now,” “Big Yellow Taxi,” “A Case of You” and “I’m Still Standing.” The 27-song figure is a count of the entries in the chronology’s set list.

The chronology names Elton John, Meryl Streep, Jon Batiste, Brandi Carlile, Celisse, Jacob Collier, Lisa Coleman, Taylor Goldsmith, Phil Hanseroth, Tim Hanseroth, Annie Lennox, Lucius, Taylor Mackall, Wendy Melvoin, Blake Mills, Marcus Mumford, Robin Pecknold, Abe Rounds, Allison Russell, Sista Strings and Rita Wilson among the Joni Jammers. It specifically lists Marcus Mumford on “California,” Annie Lennox on “Ladies of the Canyon,” and Elton John on “I’m Still Standing.” Mitchell’s companions Marcy Gensic and Sauchuen Yu were also on stage.

How the second show fits the Hollywood Bowl event
Rhino’s announcement for the original October 19 date also named Brandi Carlile and the Joni Jam, and described that performance as Mitchell’s first Los Angeles show since 2000. The added October 20 date was a separate performance, documented in its own chronology; the available set list and guest details above refer to that second night.

Joni Mitchell At Newport is a separate live album, not a recording of either Hollywood Bowl show. Joni Mitchell’s archive and Rhino’s release announcement describe CD and 2-LP black-vinyl editions. The archive also notes the release of the 5-CD Joni Mitchell Archives, Vol. 3: The Asylum Years (1972–1975), alongside a 4-LP version and an accompanying book.
