The email documents what Mark Epstein wrote; it does not prove that photos existed or identify Bubba. Mark Epstein later said Bubba was not Bill Clinton and described the exchange as humorous private correspondence.
What the email says
A reproduced House Oversight document, labeled HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_030716, records an email from Mark L. Epstein to his brother Jeffrey on March 21, 2018, at 8:32 a.m. Mark wrote: “Ask him if Putin has the photos of Trump blowing Bubba?”

The message followed Jeffrey Epstein’s March 19 reply, “All good. Bannon with me,” and Mark’s earlier questions about his brother’s health and “What is your boy Donald up to now?” That context explains why Mark referred to asking Steve Bannon. The document records the correspondence; it does not establish that the alleged photos existed or that the event described took place. House Oversight email document
How Jon Stewart addressed it
In a November 18, 2025 segment, Stewart focused on the email’s striking phrasing, joked about its wording, and asked who “Bubba” was after noting Mark Epstein’s denial that the name referred to Bill Clinton. He then criticized what he presented as inconsistent responses to the Epstein emails and earlier Pizzagate claims. That comparison was Stewart’s argument, not proof that the two situations were equivalent.

Was Bubba Bill Clinton?
That identification is not established. In a statement reported by The Daily Beast, Mark Epstein said the exchange was “a humorous private exchange between two brothers” and that the reference to Bubba “is not, in any way, a reference to former President Bill Clinton.” He declined to identify the person. His spokesperson told The Advocate that Bubba was “a private individual who is not a public figure.” These are statements from Mark Epstein and his spokesperson; the sources cited here do not independently establish Bubba’s identity.
