There is also a date mismatch: October 8, 2026 is Thursday, while WWE’s current Raw page lists the show on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Netflix.
Is John Cena challenging for the Intercontinental Championship tonight?
No Cena title match is confirmed in the WWE Raw listings reviewed. WWE’s current page features the October 5, 2026 episode and recent highlights, but does not list Cena or an Intercontinental Championship match. Check WWE’s Raw page for any later updates.
Why the date matters
The date attached to this question is Thursday, October 8, 2026. WWE’s Raw page lists the show on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Netflix, so “tonight” does not match the weekly schedule shown there. The page’s latest featured episode is October 5.
What is known about the title and the next Raw
WWE’s archive summary for September 14, 2026 identified Chad Gable as Intercontinental Champion at that time. That is dated information, not confirmation of the champion on October 8. The archive’s latest dated entry is October 5.

- Factory sealed DVD
A Fightful search result dated October 5 reports an Intercontinental Championship match set for the October 12 Raw, but the surfaced text does not name Cena. The report’s page could not be inspected, so it does not establish that he is involved.
Why Cena may be linked to the title
John Cena did challenge Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship on Raw on November 10, 2025, according to WWE’s official video listing. The listing describes Cena as seeking his first Intercontinental Championship. That past match provides context for the pairing, but it does not confirm a 2026 booking.

How to check for an announcement
For the latest confirmed match card, consult WWE’s Raw listings and look for a specific announcement naming Cena, his opponent, the title and the episode date. A separate report about a title match is not confirmation that Cena is booked.
