What changed in the annual prices?
JioStar’s February 2025 launch announcement listed Super annual at ₹899 and Premium annual at ₹1,499. Compared with those dated launch prices, the January 2026 announced prices are ₹200 more for Super (about 22%) and ₹700 more for Premium (about 47%). These percentages are calculated from the two official announcements; JioStar did not publish them as percentage increases.

Which plan fits your viewing?
- Mobile: The least expensive announced monthly option, for one mobile device at a time. Add Hollywood separately if needed; it is not included in the base tier according to the announcement.
- Super: A middle option for up to two devices, including supported living-room devices, with Hollywood included for new subscribers.
- Premium: The highest announced tier, for up to four devices. Its entertainment is described as ad-free, but live sports and other live shows are exceptions.
To compare billing periods, divide the annual amount by 12: the announced annual prices work out to approximately ₹41.58 per month for Mobile, ₹91.58 for Super, and ₹183.25 for Premium. These are arithmetic equivalents, not monthly billing rates; the subscriber pays the annual amount upfront if choosing annual billing. The quarterly and monthly choices require less upfront payment but have higher total costs over a full year than the corresponding announced annual price.
What happens to existing subscribers?
JioStar said existing subscribers would continue on their current plan and price while auto-renewals remained active. The revised structure was announced for new subscribers. The company’s terms also say it may change fees and that it will give advance notice of a fee change for a plan already selected. The announcement does not establish how a particular account will be treated if auto-renewal is turned off or a subscription lapses; check the account’s renewal details before making a change.

Why did JioStar change the plans?
JioStar framed the monthly options and pricing adjustment as a response to changing viewing preferences, including growth in Connected TV viewing, and as support for long-term investment in premium storytelling, live sports, and streaming quality. That is the company’s stated rationale, not an independent finding that the new prices improve affordability or value.
The same announcement cited 1 billion Google Play downloads, more than 450 million monthly active users across India, and more than 300,000 hours of entertainment. These are figures published by JioStar in 2026; they were not independently audited in the sources cited here.
