Steel Ball Run is no longer just announced: the anime adaptation of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 7 premiered on Netflix on March 19, 2026, and the official anime site now lists new episodes streaming every Friday. Netflix’s later-stage schedule comprises 11 episodes across the 2nd and 3rd STAGE.
When did Steel Ball Run come out?
Netflix first announced STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure as an anime series on September 12, 2025, and said it would stream worldwide on Netflix. That was the announcement date, not the premiere date. Netflix later confirmed that the anime would begin on March 19, 2026, with a special 47-minute episode titled “1st STAGE.” The episode premiered on that date.
Netflix’s September 25, 2026 schedule article describes the continuing 2nd and 3rd STAGE as an 11-episode, split-cour release, with episodes arriving weekly on Fridays. The official anime site likewise lists the series as streaming on Netflix every Friday. The announcement, premiere, and current weekly schedule are separate milestones.
Where can you watch Steel Ball Run?
Netflix is the official streaming home identified in the announcements and current schedule. The available sources do not establish a competing official streaming service. Availability can vary by territory and change over time, so check Netflix in your location for the current listing.

Is Steel Ball Run Part 7 of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure?
Yes. Netflix describes the anime as an adaptation of Part 7 of Hirohiko Araki’s manga. Set in 1890s America, the story follows Johnny Joestar, a former jockey, and outlaw Gyro Zeppeli as they compete in the transcontinental Steel Ball Run horseback race. The official anime introduction describes the fictional course as roughly 4,000 miles, with a 50-million-dollar prize for the winner; those figures belong to the story’s premise, not a real race.
Readers who want the source story can find Steel Ball Run Part 7 and its individual volumes in VIZ’s manga catalog. Editions and retail availability may vary.
