That matches the September date and episode count in a fan-circulated leak—but Netflix has not confirmed the leak’s predicted batches in 2027 and 2028.
What Netflix has officially announced
In its July 6, 2026 Anime Expo announcement, Netflix said Steel Ball Run JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure will stream every Friday starting September 25, with 11 episodes in total. Netflix’s announcement also noted a new trailer and revealed Mountain Tim, Hot Pants, and Funny Valentine. Its media listing independently gives the same weekly start date and episode count.
The show’s first premiere was March 19, 2026, according to the official trailer description. The September run is therefore a subsequent batch, not the series’ initial premiere.
Which part of the leak was confirmed?
A Reddit post dated December 21, 2025, attributed its schedule to unspecified insider information and cautioned readers to take it with a grain of salt. It predicted one episode in March 2026, 11 in September 2026, followed by batches of 12 in June 2027, 10 in October 2027, and 9 in May 2028. The September 2026 start and 11-episode count match Netflix’s announcement; the later dates remain unverified leak claims.

GamesRadar has noted that the alleged later schedule could extend the series into 2028. That possibility comes from the leak, not an announced Netflix timetable.
What the series is about
Steel Ball Run is set in 1890 and centers on a horse race across North America, which the official JoJo portal describes as the first race of its kind across the continent. Netflix’s trailer describes Johnny Joestar, a jockey paralyzed from the waist down, pursuing outlaw Gyro Zeppeli in the cross-continent race.
