Kath Ebbs said JoJo Siwa ended their relationship at the Celebrity Big Brother UK wrap afterparty in April 2025. Siwa agreed that the relationship ended after the show, but disputed that she had planned to break up there. The private conversation is not independently established, so the accounts should be read as each person’s description of what happened.
What Kath Ebbs said happened
On April 26, 2025, Ebbs posted a video describing the breakup. As quoted in contemporaneous coverage, Ebbs said they had traveled to support Siwa after filming and expected to see her at the wrap afterparty. Instead, Ebbs said, Siwa ended the relationship there, with fellow contestant Chris Hughes in another room. Ebbs described feeling hurt and humiliated.
Ebbs also characterized Siwa’s closeness with Hughes during the show as emotional cheating and as crossing relationship boundaries. Those are Ebbs’s interpretations; the reporting does not independently establish either the private breakup conversation or that characterization. How JoJo Siwa described the breakup
On April 28, Siwa discussed the breakup on ITV’s This Morning with Hughes. She said being in the house made her realize she was unhappy in the relationship. In The Independent’s reporting, Siwa said the party timing was not planned: Ebbs had initially not wanted to attend, then changed their mind, and the two spoke after Ebbs asked whether she was happy. Siwa said she answered no. “I’ll be honest, that was not a plan. That was not an intention. That was not supposed to happen like that,” she said.

Siwa gave more detail in a follow-up account on May 1. She said she had not felt ready to talk and that Ebbs repeatedly asked whether she wanted to end the relationship. Siwa said she answered yes when asked whether she wanted to end it at that moment, and said Hughes had nothing to do with the breakup. Us Weekly reported Siwa’s later account.
Where the accounts differ
The accounts agree that the relationship ended after Siwa left the show, but they emphasize the party conversation differently. Ebbs said Siwa broke up with them at the afterparty; Siwa said the setting was not planned and described the decision as emerging from a conversation in which Ebbs asked whether she was happy and, later, whether she wanted to end things.

They also differ in how they describe Hughes’s relevance. Ebbs connected Siwa’s on-show closeness with Hughes to their concerns about boundaries and mentioned his presence in another room at the party. Siwa said Hughes was unrelated to her decision. At the April 28 interview, Siwa and Hughes described their connection as platonic; that was their description at that time and does not establish anything about later developments.
